Singin' in the Rain UK and Ireland Tour

The West End production of Singin' in the Rain will have its final performance at the Palace Theatre on Saturday 8 June 2013 ahead of an extensive UK tour. The production which will open at Manchester’s Opera House on Wednesday 13 November and move to Cardiff’s Wales Millennium Centre for a Christmas and New Year season. Full details of the tour, including casting, will be announced shortly.

From 18 February 2013 television and West End star Jennifer Ellison will join Adam Cooper in the award-winning, critical smash revival of SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN at the Palace Theatre.  Ellison joins the cast to play silent movie screen siren, and owner of a voice never meant for the ‘talkies’, Lina Lamont.

Mark Benton to star as Edna Turnblad!

Stage Entertainment UK is very pleased to announce that Mark Benton (Waterloo Road and Early Doors) will be starring in the role of Edna Turnblad in the 2013 UK and Ireland tour of Hairspray!

Mark Benton is one of the country’s most loved and recognisable television actors with roles in programmes as diverse as Early Doors, Eureka Street, Catterick, Second Coming, City Lights, Booze Cruise, Land Girls, and The Street. He can currently be seen as Chalky in the BBC series Waterloo Road. On stage he has appeared in work at the National Theatre, the Old Vic, the Lyric Hammersmith, the Donmar Warehouse, the Royal Court and the RSC.

Mark Benton said: “I can’t wait to start Hairspray, it’s going to be amazing fun and an interesting challenge for me as it’s my first adventure into the world of musicals…that I get to go on that adventure playing a Baltimore housewife is an added bonus! As a musical I think it has everything, great songs, great script, really interesting story and lots and lots of laughs…I hope!”

Stage Entertainment’s smash hit production of Singin’ In The Rain, now playing at the Palace Theatre in London’s West End, today received four prestigious Laurence Olivier Award nominations.  These were for Best Musical Revival, Best Actress in a Musical for Scarlett Strallen, Best Supporting Performance in a Musical for Katherine Kingsley and Best Choreographer for Andrew Wright.

Strictly Come Dancing Live! Returns for a Fifth Year

Stage Entertainment and Phil McIntyre Entertainments have produced five smash hit arena tours of Strictly Come Dancing, seen by over 1.5 million people around the UK and Ireland, since they began in 2008.
